For two people, would anyone recommend a condo or a townhouse? Is there any way to strategically put yourself in a position to get somewhere built newer?
Thanks!

You’ve no control over it, you’ll be assigned something suitable size wise, in the last few days before you leave and that’s it. Move after 2 years if you have the credits for somewhere that’s available.

Dear Tamsin,
Thank you very much for all your replies to so many threads I have found so useful!
I know you are all very busy (and volunteers!!!), so I would be really grateful for an answer whenever you/your colleagues can.
I am getting a bit worried with regard to the accommodation availability and ease of movement from the camp to the office and within the camp (Dhahran) itself.
I am waiting for my offer to arrive (and it will shortly), I am a woman in my late 40s, I am married (though my husband doesn’t want to relocate to KSA), so I’ll be on my own most of the time.
I have two questions, if I may: 1. What sort of accommodation is usually provided to single women (I’m British, I’ll get an offer for a senior corporate role)? 2. Are there any buses I could take from “home” to the office and within the compound itself?
Thank you very much for any and all your advice in this regard!
Ella

If it’s GC 14 or lower must likely a 1bed room apt in Mango/Mint area. It’s small with bedroom & bath upstairs and kitchen & small living area downstairs.
Yes, they’re work buses to/from to offices to core area.

There are bachelor bungalows too, but no clue if they are grade or time served. There are work buses, pretty reliable and circuit buses, the latter I know little about. Plus buses off camp for shopping.
