Paperwork. I know several dependants with licences. All be it they went to Rhyiadh, but think that was down to the timing rather than an Easterm Provinces or Aramco issue.

Apparently it can be done if you know how and have the contacts, you’d need via process in ABSHER.
I’m not sure Aramco or the Al fifa people will assist, it is probably against some aramco internal policy. I was told (almost certainly BS) that there was a waiting list of over a year for female drivers to get licences, but I doubt that would apply for a conversion, if that were even true. Good luck.

The women’s groups are full of talk about the wait. Women can’t straight convert, have to do a practical test and they don’t have enough female examiners. |

The onboarding document clearly states "dependents currently cannot apply for a Saudi driving license". Is that just another bull Aramco thing, because online searches point toward spouses being able to apply directly with the government? If it is possible to get the license, is it just a paperwork process or does it require wasta? My wife got her license within 1 day. She got her Alberta license translated, got stamps from MOFA and Chamber of Commerce, did a 5 min road test and license was issued. You can give anyone with iqama and Saudi license legal authorization to drive your car by using Absher app. Finally car insurance is valid for any other driver over 21 and with Saudi license. |
