Most modern electronic devices are fine as the power supplies generally are 100-240V, 50/60Hz (eg TV, gaming consoles, printers, phone and laptop chargers). If you need to operate this sort of equipment on 120V you can get the US style 120V plugs from local shops / Souk or small adaptors. Very easy to change the plugs. Be wary of 6monthly housing inspections if you are using adaptors, as that's one thing they look for. Adaptors are supposed to be CE or UL approved.
Appliances that can not be operated on 120v are items like kitchen appliances and vacuum cleaners. For these if they are 230v, then they need to be run 230V. The exception is a kettle - it will just take twice as long to boil.
Even if your house is 120V you will have a couple of 230V sockets dotted around (kitchen, living room, main bedroom).
You can get dual voltage hairdryers and straighteners, but they are pretty expensive.

If your housing is really important to you, Aramco might not be the best fit. Have low expectations and plan to invest in furnishings and remodeling to make it suit you. You don't join Aramco for the accomodations. Are you allowed to remodel? I am just thinking of the fact that it is not your property? |

You may remodel after obtaining official approval, which is difficult to secure (as far as i know). |

Hi,
New joiner here, we are still in the process and I am waiting for all of the paperwork to be done. I was curious to hear what kind of housing you ended up getting? Size and general state of it?
I’m due to join with my spouse and they’ve said we’d only get a 1 bed apartment instead of the 2 bed house described in the relocation guide.

I would like to ask, If a Western expat did not like the offered housing (due to size or condition) and wanted to live outside Aramco compound, does Aramco give them the Housing allowance? and how much? You used to get the choice of rental assistance allowance or housing. But dont think you can request it now, unless you are offered it. |

How about washer and dryer? They have run out and there is a waiting list. You get given 4 months of laundry service, not including underwear, up to the value of 300 SAR a month. |

Hi folks,
As much I know about the camp, there are 3 neighborhoods: Main Camp, Hills and Heights.
There are new and old villas, townhouses and apartments in the above neighbourhoods.
Can anyone help me learn, which part of the camp is Tarut Drive located. What type of houses are available in that location?

Hi, it is in Hills, they are currently refurbishing house there and put them in 220v
