o there!
I received an offer from Aramco and my spouse had a conversation with her employer about the impact, should we accept. While they currently do not have a business presence in KSA, they have indicated that they would take steps to do so in order to keep her on their staff. She has worked remotely for them for ~15 years and would continue to do so. I've seen a few questions pop up from time to time about spouse employment, but in this case she wouldn't be working for a local company.
We've talked about her not working, but the concern is her keeping busy.
Who would I need to talk to in order for everything to be kosher (or halal)? The Relocation Advisor? My recruiter? Someone from HR?

What’s your question? Will your wife be allowed to work remotely by Aramco? Not sure if they would care or how they know unless u told them. They may care if they think your wife will be utilizing the company’s internet resources for her non- Aramco job. I personally wouldn’t ask permission or mention anything about your wife possibly working remotely from Aramco .
We maybe facing the similar situation.

From my experience,Aramco expect wives to look after the kids and do the traditional 1950s housewife activities. Plain speaking, unless your wife is sponsored separately by her company in Saudi, coming here means career suicide for your partner. You are not allowed to work on the dependent visa (doesn’t mean that people don’t), but agree with above, informing Aramco won’t do you any favours!

This is true. My wife was fortunate to obtain a job w/ Aramco back in 2009 after us being there a year. She had to be removed from my visa and obtain her own work visa. If your wife is able to keep her current job and work fully remote, I would keep discreet and not ask or tell Aramco.
The possibility of wife not able to have job with income has to go into your decision factors of going to Aramco.

If she is working remotely from home in kingdom, you don't need to inform Aramco. Just get fiber optic internet, a VPN and go about your lives.
I've been trying to find in kingdom employment for my wife either through Aramco or outside and have not had any luck in that venture.
If you don't have kids in kingdom and your wife isn't involved in school activities she will likely get very board very quickly.

Appreciate the feedback. We will work with her employer but any work would be a bonus rather than an expectation.
Glad to know it’s something we don’t need to get Aramco involved in, makes it more straightforward for us.

Not if you have children w/ u there in KSA. I guess if your married and have no kids then your wife gets a job in Saudi that requires her own work visa, I assume you would be converted to a single status on resident/work visa.

I am from the UK and plan to travel with the family. My wife work and would like to keep her career going so she will be searching. Similarly the plan is to have the kids with us for a couple of years then off to boarding school back in the UK.

Dear All,
I am in a similar situation: I will work in Dharhan and my wife would like to continue working for her employer through a local affiliate. HR told me that she must enter with a dependent visa if we do not want to lose the accommodation in the Aramco camp and Aramco school benefit for our kids. Do you know how to ensure that she would be allowed to work and that we will not lose our family status?

Two ways: Te easiest route is unofficially in that you don't tell Aramco or the government and she works from home in KSA. The other is your wife is sponsored by her employer and gets her own Iqama via that route. I am not sure how that affects the 1950s backwards Aramco policy to family housing, and schooling- you may end up losing your "family" status as a result.

I believe the best case scenario is that your wife’s employer does not require her to be sponsored by them for a work visa/iqama purposes and she just remains as your dependent on you iqama. If this is the case, no reason to mentioned or bring it to Aramco’s attention.
