As most of the family status employees arrive first in KSA and their family follow them latter (which can take up to 3-5 months) , are you considered to be on " Bachelor status" in KSA till your family arrives? As " Bachelor status" employees are eligible for the reimbursement of taxes from the Aramco income, I am wondering if any tax I have to pay in my home country till my family arrives will be reimbursed? I asked my RA this question and they had no idea.

Can't believe the RA doesn't know the answer to that question. I believe you will go over as family status, as long it is planned they will joined you within 3 to 5 months. Do you have school aged children that have been admitted to the Aramco schools? Have you been assigned housing yet, if so, is it bach housing or family housing? The answer to those questions would indicate if you have classed as family or bachelor status, if it hasn't already be clearly communicated to you.
I am sure there is some policy on maximum time limit that your family must join you in Saudi to remain on family status, which I would ask, if it hasn't already been communicate to you.

Yeah so I am going on a family status and all the paper work has been filled that way. Still waiting for the housing assignment (its frustrating to be honest, I fly out in two weeks and still waiting to hear about housing). Kid is only 2 years so still couple of year till she joins school.
I believe the max time limit is 90 days.

That sounds about right. So they should put you in family housing - don't worry I think its pretty common to not to be assigned housing until last minute.
I was there from 08 to 13. Trying to get back. Have 2nd round interview in a couple weeks.

Don't worry too much about the housing, I found out less than 24 hours before I flew to Kingdom about my allocated housing. I was put straight into my family housing. When you get here you will be classed as family status, the time limit for your family to join is 90 days, but I don't think it would be too strict, as long as things are progressing, however once you receive your yellow slip (family visa) it is only valid for 90 days. My advice is come prepared with your legal documentation, and bring all the originals such as birth & marraige certificates, degree etc.

Thanks for the input guys. So from the conversation above it seems like ,even though my family will follow me later on, I'll be still classed as a family status when I arrive is KSA I-e no tax reimbursement .

I was told that tax reimbursement is only applicable to employees on bachelor status. Is claiming the tax reimbursement from Aramco straightforward with receipt of the tax paid? Any experience?
