Hi, First my sincerely thanks to whoever can share some thoughts with me. I have some questions regarding medical insurance for employees on global payroll, [1] Looks like SA will provide free, complimentary medical service through the in-Kingdom facilities. Does the company purchase third-party commercial medical insurance (for example, Cigna Global) to protect expats and their children for repatriation trips? [2] The medical and dental insurance of my current employers covers my children while they are in university until 26. However, if SA doesn't provide third-party medical insurance, it means that I have to purchase by myself to cover the kids while they are in college in US. Has anyone negotiated with SA to pay for this insurance cost? [3] When expats travel outside the Kingdom, what are the typical insurance one would purchase? [4] is the medical facility in Kingdom capable enough to handle complicated medical conditions? Is they can't handle it, who one would do? Does SA pay for medical service out side of Kingdom, if such service is deemed necessary? Thank you!

My understanding for global payroll you are responsible for out of kingdom insurance for yourself and your dependents. As far as the capablilities of JAHA, many expats choose to have major procedures performed in the US. I don't know how that is handled for global payroll.

If you are US payroll, you and your family will have Aetna Global medical insurance. Starting in 2021 US payroll is also offered vision (VSP) and dental covee. The covee from Aetna is great and we’ve used it several times when back in the US. Covee also includes unmarried children up to 26 years old.

My experience with Aetna global has been less than stellar. They have repeatedly denied covee for my son claiming I have no covee and that I am not employed with Aramco. Supposedly that was cleared up, but I am still having issues. There are multiple enies between Aramco and Aetna and if you have issues expect to be frustrated by the process.

Can you share any details about the vision and dental insurance? My current employer rolls vision into our medical (with $400/year for glasses) and has solid dental covee ($4000 for orthodontics).
