I've been told offer is coming but was wondering about travel benefit amounts. Does the benefit vary between grades (I've been told I'll be a GC 15)? And what exactly does full fare economy mean? Looking at google flights, economy round trip tickets between DMM and IAH range range from $1,000 to $1,500. Should I then expect the travel benefit to be less that $2,000 per family member?
Thanks!

You will see the exact amount of travel allowance at your offer. (GC matters) Also, the fare is based on the full fare, so It'll be quite sufficient I think.

In my experience the travel allocation covers in the ballpark of two economy tickets and change. Now my home is literally 1/2 way around the world form the kingdom so that might play into it. I haven't heard anyone finding the travel allowance doesn't cover their expenses for one and most likely two economy trips home.

My last post was prior to booking my latest flights. With high fuel costs or perhaps the summer season economy flights are 50% more than they were last year and earlier this year. So don't count on the travel allowance covering two economy flights home. Hopefully next year there will be a correction to match flight costs.

Tell us about your last trip and how much money you spent.Last time I traveled to five European countries. The last one was Spain. My husband and I chose the oldest city in Western Europe, Barcelona. Barcelona is the pearl othe Iberian Peninsula on the Mediterranean coast on a plateau 5 km away, the border of which from the south is almost the Collserola mountain range. The biggest plus is the small number of tourists. As for the budget, we allocated 500 euros for accommodation and transport and 200 euros for expenses. I should note that we were in Barcelona for three days. Since this place was completely new to us, we booked some free tours at Barcelona free walking tour. That's what an unusual trip turned out to be.
