Hi All,
I am relocating from UK to Dhahran in the summer and while I was checking the school fees for these 2 British schools, I get shocked.
It is extremely expensive, why ? i.e. BSD is about ( for Year 7 – Year 9: SAR 83,174 ( including VAT ) $22,173.75 per child ) ??
Why ?? can anyone tell me why and what is the difference between these 2 schools and the rest of the British schools in Dammam ?
And what about Aramco Schools ? is it compeive and comparable to these 2 schools ?
Kind regards,
Adam

What other British schools are you looking at? As far as I know, BDS and BISAK are the only 2 schools in the area following the English national curriculum. The others follow Cambridge curriculum, or similar, which you will find very different if you have come from England.

Aramco schools clain to be in the top 5% of US curriculum schools worldwide. There is a slightly different focus to UK schools - ahead on Math / Geometry was the impression I got.
Your kids can transition from UK to US with a little catchup work on their part, but to transition from US to UK is not so easy. A lot of UK kids will transition to boarding after Grade 8 - straight to the GCSE years in UK, although some boarding schools do offer IBGCSE for that purpose from grade 9 before transition to IB for 6th form.
As to pricing for the schools - the prices are similar to what UK costs are. Aramco will help with up to 90% school fees up a ceiling.
