Hi All,
I am relocating from UK to Dhahran in the summer and while I was checking the school fees for these 2 British schools, I get shocked. It is extremely expensive, why ? i.e. BSD is about ( for Year 7 – Year 9: SAR 83,174 ( including VAT ) $22,173.75 per child ) ??
Why ?? can anyone tell me why and what is the difference between these 2 schools and the rest of the British schools in Dammam ?
And what about Aramco Schools ? is it compeive and comparable to these 2 schools ?
Kind regards,
Adam

Aramco schools are good - they claim to be in the top 5% of American curriculum schools.
Curriculum focus is slightly different- the Aramco school will be farther ahead in Math / geometry but I think behind in English. It is entirely feasible to transition UK tO US curriculum, but not so much the other way.
My daughter did year 9 in Dhahran, but most UK boarding schools wanted her to do a GCSE "year" of 2 full years prior to A levels. In the end she did IBGCSE's and then IB for 6th form as a boarder in UK.
As for the fees - I think you will find they are similar priced with UK private schools. One if the Atamco benefits is assistance with school fees, don't worry too much about the cost.

Thank you so much for your reply.
Regarding to your last point, Aramco Education Assistance plan, it will cover only 55 % of the British school fees, so, I have to pay the other 45%. That is why I am really re-thinking about Aramco School. And as my daughter will be in Year 9 when we arrive, so, if I enrolled her to Grade 8 ( US system in Aramco school ) will it be a problem when she will be back to UK for the University, I have to look at this point as I have no experience at all regarding to this process.
One more question if you don't mind, Is Aramco high School is the same " ASD - American School of Dhahran " ?
thanks a lot

Aramco will cover the full cost of in Kingdom tuition. This does have a ceiling in US$, which is less than the in Kingdom school fees unfortunately, but it still covers from what I see 75% of the fees for the Dhahran schools.
Likewise they can board OOK or attend as day pupils whilst staying g with relatives in the UK. Again Aramco will cover 90% for eligible expenses up to a certain threshold, above which you have to pay the extra.
I'm not going into figures on a public forum, but the EAP is a generous package and provides an excellent opportunity for your kids to excel whichever route you choose to follow for them.
Talk to your relocation advisor if you want definite figures based on your offer.

Aramco doesnt have a high school. The kids that stay in kingdom, in Aramco schools, transfer to ASD.
Aramco cover school fees up to a ceiling. Details will be in the offer. I would guess ASD, DBS (both part of ISG) and BISAK would all incur some out of pocket costs. I dont know how the Aramco fees for high school at ASD work.
I've also replied on you other thread asking about these two schools.

Thank you so much all for your answers.
Now BSD increase the feeds this year by 20% , which is a big shock for me, for my kids, which are between year 7-9 , it will cost about 80K SAR !!!. So, if Aramco will cover ASD ( as my kids will join Aramco school) , then it will be a bargains, as ASD & BSD are at the same camp.

BSD allegedly raised fees due to some financial issues (new building contractor who was paid went bust which meant lots of money lost). So I heard anyway
