Coming to Dhahran at the end of this month. Wondering where to get a bike in the camp so I can get around before I have a car? Meanwhile, if the shuttle service quite convenient in terms of schedule and stops in the camp? I probably will live in Jebel Heights in one of the apartments. Thanks.

There are bike stores in Khobar. I brought my bike, but I'm in Udhailiyah and it's a long cab ride to a bike store. The times I've been in Dhahran the busses seem to run quite frequently during the day. If you like to go out late for a bite or coffee a bicycle or golf cart will be handier.

Thanks. Yeah, that's what I thought. The camp at Dhahran seems quite big. Even getting point to point within the camp seems too far stretch for walking, esp.during the hot months. I was hoping there would be a bike store in the camp so I can just ride a shuttle there to get one. It seems I have to get out of the camp to get a bike now...

There might be bikes available in Dhahran, I don't live there so can't say for sure. Since there is a little shop in Uhhailiyah that sells bikes, I imagine there might be one in Dhahran. But A cab ride to Khobar is quite reasonable and you might have a co-worker that offers to take you after work to pick up some items you need. I am glad I brought a bicycle with me when I arrived in kingdom. I was here 1 1/2 years before getting a vehicle, covid played a bit into that. A bike and a backpack and you can get groceries whenever you need.
