Dear All,
I am based in UK and have recently been offered a role in Aramco Finance (Dharan).
I have 3 kids age 8, 12 and 15. For the kid age 8, we are considering bringing him to Kingdom for either in camp schooling or at one of the British schools (TBD) outside the camp.
For kids age 12 and 15, we are considering the option of keeping them in local private fee paying schools in UK whilst they stay with my brothers family in UK (third party boarding). They will be visiting us during holidays 2-3 times a year.
I wanted to ask what sort of housing we can expect. Is it going to be based on 3 occupants (Myself, wife and Age 8) or 5 occupants (Myself, wife, kid age 8, and age kids 12 and 15 who will be visiting us in holidays).

I would be interested in knowing the answer to this question as well. I was hoping my parents and brother can visit me in Saudi from time to time and was wondering whether I'd be able to keep them in camp housing for a couple months each year. I have a family of 3 (wife, kid and I) so will likely get a 2 bedroom so if my parents/brother visit, we'll probably have to adjust in the space available. However, I would be really interested in knowing the rules around keeping guests at the camp.

Newbie267 I dont know if the rules have changed, but I would expect you to get accomadation for 4 dependants, due to the age of the kids.
Canfin I think there are rules about length of stays (but we weren't on camp). I dont think you will get more than a 2 bedroom, and you may find permission for visitors for that length of time isnt approved. But the new Visa system may have changed that.

To the OP, my recommendation would be take the family status contract with “family to follow”. This suits Aramci as it simplifies the process for you to come initially. You get here, process your Iqama (few weeks to do) and then set in motion the process to get your wife and family across. The process is that once you get the yellow slip (aka Visa for family) you then have 90 days to get them here.
In the meantime you will be awarded a house on arrival based on the size of your family unit which will be 3 or 4 bedrooms. Generally there is an extra room, listed as either study or maids room so 3 bed is actually 4. You will have to get your family in kingdom to process, but tha can be done in around 1 week so in theory if you can time it correctly it can be done over Christmas, half term or Easter for a minimal disruption to you older kids schooling.
There is assistance with schooling available, but that has to be applied for and approved once you get here. Transition to Aramco schools from the UK system is not too bad, but the Mth will be more advanced than the UK system generally. You do have the option in Dhahran of 2 British curriculum schools - Bisak and British Grammar if you want to bring your whole family across.
@ Canfin - T9 get full ID badge and access to camp facilities for visitors requires approval from HR. Their restriction is max 2 persons per room, so you should be able to bring 3 visitors without issue, or 5 if you can persuade HR that your 2 bed is actually a 3 bed.
