So I have just accepted an offer for a position based in the Northern Area Offshore Operations department!
Will be travelling from Scotland with my wife and two children, have been told I will be based in Ras Tanura. Very exciting but nervous time!
Applied in December 2020, was contacted January 2021 for an interview, and interviewed back in March for the position.
Received my offer earlier this week.
It all suddenly feels real!

Congratulations and best wishes for your new endeavour. I take it you still need to go through all the contingencies including background check, visa medical etc. If so these could take a few more months

Thank you, yes still have to get through all the usual medicals, background checks and visas. But none the less, accepting the position has set the wheels in motion!

Welcome to the Irn Bru drought.
Havent seen a can since October 2019, but I still have 4 left over from the mass buying of 4 cans every time I was in the commisary. Full fat at that!
Could be quick, could be slow to finish the paperwork. I was holed down in Holland hoping to see out the world cup in 2014 when all my paperwork was done in a few weeks somehow.

It was the same in Scotland for a while, especially when they announced that a new reduced sugar recipe was coming, everyone was buying the old recipe by the crate! But thanks, they've said with covid it has slowed things down a touch, but the wheels are now in motion which is the main thing. It's an exciting thought! I'll be through to Aberdeen in the coming weeks for my visa medicals etc

Nice.
How long did the BI take for you?
I'm going through the BI now and have given in my form and have been asked a few questions about my past employment and education history (which is all UK history prior to my current job working in KSA).

I must admit it didn't take long at all, including my degree attestation, it took 5-6 weeks. I only accepted the position at the start of August. I am the same as yourself all Employment, education and qualifications has been in the UK. Edit, just found out I'll be travelling over on the 30th of November!

Congratulations! I think that's a perfect time to arrive, My start date was December 1st. It makes adapting to the weather much easier. The only downside is many expats travel home for the holidays so it will take a few months before everyone is back in the office and camp.

Yes I've heard this a few times, as its cooler it should be easier to adjust to the heat, Scotland isn't exactly known for its blistering heat!
