I understand from an acquaintance currently working in Saudi Aramco (Dhahran) that, even though some dog breeds are forbidden, particularly all terriers, he managed to bring his dog, which is a terrier breed, obtaining a certificate from a vet who asked him: "what breed do you want your dog to be?". Is this common practice? Is this advisable? Would doing something like this be grounds for termination (if discovered)?

I don't know the particulars as I haven't brought my dog into the kingdom, but I know several people that have small dog breeds that are apparently banned in the kingdom and they didn't seem to have any problems. I seriously doubt you would be terminated for bringing in a dog on the banned list. That's in issue with immigration, not the company.

What do you expect will happen if Aramco discovered that you used deception?

We just had our 10 year old beagle arrive from Calgary via an agent, and HR has no involvement with animal relocation.
