Dear all,
I presume a question raised multiple times and I have seen partial responses to it.
We are contemplating a move to Saudi with Aramco and are a family of 5 (parents and 3 boys aged 11 (twins) and 9).
The kids currently educated in an IB school in Europe, assuming we make it to Saudi smoothly, will be moving to Grade 6 and 4 respectively for the 2020-2021 school year.
We are interested in understanding IB schooling options in and around Dhahran. We would like to keep the kids with us till the finish school and prior to going to Uni.
Would there be something on offer ? Any leads / experiences from other members would be highly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

I believe the only international school offering IB at that age is International Program School. Look at the balance of international and Saudi Ministry of Schools. Dhahran Hign School offers IB diploma- but not PYP or MYP, I dont believe. Aramco offer US curriculum. International Schools group offer English and US curriculum, with the IB at high school as mentioned above. BISAK offer English curriculum. There is a French school, but I dont know much about it.

Yes, you can start at DHS. Most of the fees will be covered by the schooling allowance (unless things have changed recently), but a small parental top up is required.

Dear Swan, Many thanks for the response. Since you appear to know quite a bit can I kindly ask a couple of follow up questions: - Do you know how international the international program school is ? Meaning, nationalities, other Aramco staff kids attending etc.. - Do you know of instances where kids have move from Aramco's schools to DHS. Generally but also specifically to finish the IB diploma.
Again, many thanks for the feedback.

Our kids are too young for High School. Lots of people go from Dhahran to the ISG schools at all ages. This almost certainly increases with Aramco schools finishing after middle school - although others go to boarding school abroad.
I've messaged you.

Moving from Aramco schools to ISG-Dhahran is very common. No issues at all and transportation is provided. Some start 9th grade there and others finish 9th grade in Aramco. Since Aramco has allowed American's to start boarding school at 9th grade it has become more common. Global payroll has always been able to choose boarding school since elementary school (not sure why anyone would do that however).
ISG-Dhahran is quite responsive if you have questions. Send them an email.
