Hi everyone,
I am from Australia recently interviewed (late November19) for an expat position at Dhahran. The interview went well and they made their intention to go ahead with an offer. Right now I'm waiting for the offer. My consultant told me that it is awaiting final approval and should arrive late this month (Jan 20).
Time line: Interview: Late November 19 Oral Offer: Late November 19 (after a week) Written offer: awaiting...
Questions: What would the percent increase in salary be? Is it fine to negotiate? If I ask for an increase does it have to again go through weeks/months of the approval process?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

o all. I was contacted by Aramco recruiter via LinkedIn and was told that my profile matched for a role they were trying to fill. I was asked to send my resume for review and I did. Approximately 2 weeks later, I was contacted by a Houston Aramco representative with the le of Lead recruiter and told I had been selected for a face to face interview in Houston. I interviewed in Houston(I am from Houston) for an HSE position with the Downstream group in mid December 2019. I sent a thank you email in the days following the interview. The recruiter I dealt with was out of the office for several weeks for the holidays and I contacted him a week after his return, that was mid January. He said that the feedback from my interview was good and that they were working on several candidates but we would talk soon. I have not heard from him since and have sent a follow up email politely asking if there was an update. After reading many threads, it appears that it is common for the process to take some time. My question is anyone else interview in December and receive an offer at this point? Also, on the email I was sent with instructions, it said final interview in the subject line even though this was my first interview. I’m not sure if that means anything, I am just driving myself crazy at this point waiting to hear from them. Things I have heard are if they went as far as to seek me out, I didn’t apply for anything, and I got a FTF interview are really good things and sound promising. Just scratching my head over here. Sorry for the rant. Any help is appreciated.

It can take its time so don’t stress yourself. I was told in September I would get an offer and after 2.5 months or so waiting the offer finally came through. As far as I know every expat offer has to be signed off by a VP and that is usually outside of the department’s control and can take time. So just carry on with your life as normal and hope for the best. After you get the offer it will be many more weeks or months to get BI, medical and visa process completed

Thank you for your insight. I agree. It’s out of my hands now and just need to wait. After all the reading I have done on the topic, seems to be the norm. How long after your interview did they tell you an offer was forthcoming?

Ok, thank you for sharing. It’s been just under 2 months and in all fairness, my point of contact for Aramco in Houston was out of the office for the first part of it for the holidays. I plan to do like you and other have suggested, stop stressing over it. I do plan to call or email every couple of weeks that I don’t hear anything to check in for status. Hoping that’s not too pushy.

Wow. Surprising to hear of all the timelines. I guess I understand the delays based on the approvals needed, time difference and other logistics that go into the process. Tough for me because I am a bit of a control freak and like a dog with a bone. At this point I will wait to hear and check in every few weeks for a possible update. Honestly, I just want to hear that the process is moving forward and to expect an offer. I would be ok with the waiting for that rather than the current waiting of not hearing anything.

If you're a control freak, then working in the kingdom might not be for you. Delays and frustrations are just the way it is, they don't stop when you arrive in kingdom. Depending on what department you join the amount of guidance you receive to work your way through the process of getting settled varies considerably.
