Hi Guys, I am relocating to Dhahran for my job as a Physician at JHAH early next year. JHAH does not offer any residences in Camp anymore to newly recruited physicians. I am visiting Dhahran in Nov before I mover permanently with family (spouse and two kids, 5 y old and 1 y old) next year. Would you have any recommendations for compounds many Americans with little kids choose to live? I have seen the list on this forum but would like to know any few of preferred ones I should have a look during my one week stay in Dhahran to get an idea before we move later. Thanks so much

What school are you after? I would look for a compound nearish the school.
Rashid, Eurovillage, Dana/Nada, Canary, Zamil are the places I'd look at if we were going back. I'm not sure what state Oasis is in at the moment. There are some new compounds down in Aziziyah that would be worth exploring - especially Canary Vista if DEMS would be your school of choice. There are also some new compounds near the new BISAK location which I'd investigate.

Hi swan , Thanks for your response. Yes definitely DEMS. I would make appointments from the ones you mentioned. Would really appreciate your further input in Aziziyah and on compounds near BISAK, as you know google is not of much help in this. One more thing, when you say Rashid; does that mean Al-Rushaid village? As I heard that Al-Rushaid village is good for family living, especially for kids? Thanks again.

Gulf Home Compound is 10 min away off camp and close to all amenities. It's a mix of expats, single and families. Very relaxed, secure compound with an excellent management team who are attentive to tenants needs.

Yes to meaning Al Rushaid 🙈
I'm afraid I couldn't name compounds near the two new school campuses. You'd have to get there and go for a drive. It is all so new down there, reputations have yet to be built.
