hi- so great to find this forum. I am excited to be joining in November this year from England.
What is required for Iqama medical? I have seen a few threads but just want some clarification. Is it just a chest x Ray, blood test or does it include for example things like eye test, hearing test as per my medical in London?
Many thanks

Hi all- would really appreciate a reply admin/ starboy? I recently answered all the tests in another thread. Anyone with any pre-existing psychiatric conditions will NOT receive medical clearance and will have their offer rescinded. Saudi Arabia does NOT issue work visa/Iqamas for expats with pre-existing psychiatric conditions. Furthermore, anyone who tests positive for Hep A, B, C, Cholera, Malaria, Syphilis, HIV/AIDS, and TB, will be deemed unfit and NOT receive medical clearance. Also, varicose veins can be an issue, given the weather conditions and walking that is required. Basically, all candidates should be reasonable fit, being overweight or obese is fine, however, usually both come with additional health conditions, hence, the medical examination. Existing conditions such as Cholesterol, Diabetes, etc, that are managed with medical documentation are acceptable.

Thanks StarboyX- that’s really helpful. Had an injury to my left eye when I was young but already declared it at the London medical and to Aramco in medical pre screening and wasn’t an issue then and also had a letter from my ophthalmologist declaring me fit for work and driving etc. So will bring that letter with me.
Don’t think I have any of the other things listed so fingers crossed all goes well

This is a list of medical tests which you need to clear. The medical test for iqama is one of the most important procedure for new expats in Saudi Arabia.

Skin or blood can be positive even for latent (non contagious) TB. Thanks.

My wife tested positive for latent TB using the blood test QuantiFERON-TB Gold (QFT) ten years ago on a different expat medical. She had to take antibiotics for three months before getting a clearance even tough the X-ray was negative. But luckily for Saudi it is just an X-Ray.
