I am going to be moving to Dhahran in a couple of months. I have been gathering information about what expenses I will have that will not be covered by Aramco. Following is the list of what I think will be the expenses. Please comment if this is an accurate list and if I have missed something. I am preparing this so I can mentally be prepared. - House rent on the compound - we are a family with two children - approximately $700 a month
- Multi exit/re-entry visa per person SAR2300 x 4 per year
- Dependent fee SAR400 x 3 per month
- My iqama fees. How much per year?
- Dependent iqama fees. How much per year?
Many thanks for your help I advance.

There are no Iqama fees as such - that is covered by the dependants fees.
House rent - maybe a little less, but not by much.
Visa fees - entirely your call. If you don't need a 12 month multi-entry you can get by using single entry visas or several month multi. eg, my daughter has just left for on a 6 month single (600 SAR), and will probably do the same in January again. However, if you will be traversing the causeway regularly then you will need the multi.

Thanks for both of your valuable inputs, scorpio, BlueStaff. As the one who is waiting for the final offer, i am also wondering the living cost on the compound.. My questions are: 1. Anyone could share me about the school fee?? I have two kids with me. one is 4 years old, the other one is 14 months. 2. Is it possible for my wife to find a (part time) job on campus?? I know it depends on many factors, but i just wanna know how hard it is for ordinary spouse with bachelor degree.
Thanks in advance.

Full-time permanent employees of Saudi Aramco are NOT allowed to gainfully be employed at organizations within Saudi Arabia, as that's violation of your Iqama and Saudi Aramco's sponsorship, and is grounds for termination.

There are no school fees as such within the Saudi Aramco school system.
As to "work" for your wife, there may be opportunities to help out at school or with various other clubs on camp. Probably on a volunteer basis. Children in Saudi Aramco schools go home at lunchtime for lunch, so anything has to be arranged around that.
There is some form of 1/2 day pre-school, but that's as much as I know. Either morning of afternoon, a few days per week or 5 days. You will need to speak with the school on that one.
