I was interviewed in Houston on May 7th 2019 for the position of senior project engineer in Aramco PMT department.
The interview went extremely well taken by a panel of 3 members, one being the senior Vice President.
After the interview i ask the recruiter (who approached me) that how long its gonna take for aramco to respond back and she told me 2-3 weeks.
i contacted my recruiter after 2 weeks to know the status and she told me that department has asked for my degrees and certification which she has sent to them and now waiting for department’s reply.
i contacted my recruiter 2 days after Eid and she told me things have been slow due to ramada And Eid holidays and don’t expect a reply for next 2-3 weeks. ( i said sorry for being impatient to her and she was very kind)
i also asked her did they ask for degrees for everyone or only shortlisted candidates and she confirmed that only hand full of candidates degree were requested.
I know PATIENCE is the key and the whole process will take too much time but i just want to know if this is normal?
what is the point of asking for degrees when they do not initiate background checks until after they offer the employment?
