I've rented a car once in Saudi, and I took out comprehensive insurance. The price difference was huge VS basic third party.
So what happens if you do get into anat fault accident, with a rental, and basic third party?
YOU will pay the sticker price of the car!
I ran into a friend who just went thru this ordeal last week; he rented a Hyundai Accent with basic third party. He was involved in an accident and it was "determined" to be his fault.
So I say "determined" with quotations b/c the reality here is in most cases, you will be at fault. Even if you're not, compared to how it works in Canada/US/UK/EU, you're still be at fault.
His rental was deemed a write off and he is now forced to pay the sticker price of the rental VS the actual value.
Lesson learned; pay more upfront for insurance.

Yep...they steal from people as much as possible.. now things are a little bit different taking into consideration COVID times..That is why I choose the most expensive one..full covee...no problem...Even if you a careful driver you must take into considerations than others are not...So you might be hit by a stupid one and without insurance support the consequences... I learned my lesson as well that is why I chose the best one when it is about car insurance.. Money Expert. Now..as premium they give me back 15 %.COVID times man
