I have recently been offered a position with family package. However my wife does not want to relocate. She is currently employed in our home country and has certain career goals too. So, I would like to seek advice. Can i change from family to bachelor status? Is there any option for rotation say 28/28 so that I can frequently visit my family? Please help.

Yes you can always change status. 28 on off is only for people on the rigs I believe. If you have a desk job on Main camp in dhahran, this is not an option.

Thanks StarboyX. I will have a permanent desk job with frequent visits to sites. As best practice, how people generally manage bachelor status? Split their 38-day vacation into intervals?

How you can split your leave will very much depend on the department. Some seem to push for one long break. Others seem easier with several shorter breaks. One (or maybe 2 on bachelor status? I'm not sure) will need to be long enough to satisfy the repat requirements.
But, writing as a wife, if she really doesnt want to come, and you do, bachelor status is probably a good call. Saudi is not a place to be if you don't want to be here. It is hard work to make it work.

You have 38 days to use throughout the year (plus either 2 or 4 days for repat travel depending on home location).
Repat leave has to be taken each year and you must be out of kingdom for at least 14 days leave.
The rest of the days can be taken as approved by your line manager or supervisor. Mostly people try to "bridge" the 4 or 5 days that you get for Ramadan or Eid to maximise the days. You should be able to squeeze three trips of 2.5 - 3 weeks out of them.
Also if you do not use all of your vacation days you can carry over the remaining days to the next year - within reason!

Also, generally speaking, you won't be able to take leave for more than a few days until your 6 month probation is over.
