Hi, I am hoping to be in RT by year end and was wondering if anyone can provide info on facilities and clubs that are on offer. My wife enjoys the gym, yoga, cycling and dancing. My daughter is into ballet, tap, swimming and cheerleading so that are very concerned about missing out. Also, as a family what is on offer for us to do in downtime? Shops wise, is there a supermarket on RT compound and is it easy to get most things like we do in uk? Thanks

Hi,I've been using the forum for research and its been very useful information. Thanks to everyone for contributing. This is my first time posting a message on here, and I just wanted to get the latest 2023 on facilities etc.
Will be moving to RT from UK this summer with my husband and three girls (6,9,15), and just had a few questions.
1. What clubs are there for children? 2. Any Clubs for adults? 3. How many restaurants are open now on the compound? 4. Can you get your hair done on compound? 5. What water activities are there in RT. Can you surf? 6. Are the golf and bowling centers really busy, do you have to book well in advance? 7. Is it safe for kids to play outside on street within compound (bikes etc)? 8. Are there open coffee mornings pr meet-ups for mums/wife's, as I would like to get to know people. 9. Does a vet visit RT, as we plan to bring our two cats?
Sorry for the long post, but any responses, to any of above would be appreciated. Thanks Audrey

Thanks Audrey Hi there, I'll answer these questions best I can 1 - there are loads of groups for kids, from football (soccer), roller blading, tennis dancing, gymnastics, cycling, running, bowling. There's also mums and tots for really young kids. 2 - I'm not sure on all the adult clubs but there's definitely lots of spin class/workout classes and tennis. 3 - there is 3/4 restaurants on camp, one of which only opened last month after total demolition and refurbishment. 4 - yes you can get your hair done in camp, the beauty salon on camp can do it. 5 - surfing would be difficult as the water isn't really surfing type water, but alot or people do paddleboarding. 6 - golf and bowling are never really that busy unless it's a Thursday/Friday evening, and I've been told you can't book a lane. Very minimally priced too. There is a golf pro in the club house who can offer lessons too. 7 - it's very safe for kids to play outside on their bikes, as long as your kids are aware of road safety they will be absolutely fine. Most kids travel by bike in camp, and security/Aramco are very strict with road traffic violations, so driving on camp is very sensible for the most part. 8 - There is the RT women's group for getting to meet people. My wife felt the same as you, and now has a better social life with friends she's made here than she did in the UK. She's often out for coffee a few times a week. There's two cafes opened at the beach. 9 - I can't comment on the vet situation as we don't have any pets but a huge majority of residents on camp have pets and I've never heard of anyone struggling to reach a vet. Hope this helps. Anything else feel free to message

Summer is really difficult to do much outside, but otherwise September- May is great.
