Can anyone share their experience in using Google fi in Dhahran? Good data covee? Best thing since sliced bread. That said, I typically only use it when traveling. Seriously though, you’ll want a local number sooner than later, otherwise using local and government services will be a pain.

Thank you. Makes sense. Did you sign up for the unlimited data plan? Is the signal strong enough to use your phone as a hotspot?

Yes, STC signal is strong enough to use your phone as a hotspot, however, you can subscribe to plans on your mobile SIM once you've received your Iqama, and can only get a data SIM, require for WiFi dongles, once you receive your Iqama.
When you receive your Iqama, make sure you update the info with STC or carrier you go with, and same for banking, hence, while everyone is in rush to open an account, you'll have to go back again one you get your Iqama.
Save time and the hassle and do things the require your Iqama once you receive your Iqama.
