Hi all,
i have an upcoming interview as an Instrument Engineer for Saudi Aramco. I have a few questions and hope you can assist:
1. What are the typical questions (and tips) that they might ask for this particular role? 2. What would be a reasonable salary to negotiate (answer per PM please) 3. Are all work contracts on a residential basis or can 28/28 schedule be negotiated? 4. Is it safe to live and work in Saudi?
I appreciate your assistance

1. Any general, they're start the 1st interview to learn more about and your experience, and most importantly, why Aramco and what do you know about the company. Do you homework on Aramco, Vision2030, etc.
2. You don't discuss salary in interviews; once a conditional offer has been made, then you deal directly the recruiter. As an expat, you'll want to negotiate your "base component", as this also increases your rental allowance (RAA), if applicable.
3. I'm not aware of conditions for 28/28, except that it's a great package overall.
4. Yes, it's safe here. I personally think it's safer than Toronto or Calgary; I don't hear about stupid drivers in 40 or 50 car crashes, nor other criminal activity. As an expat, your exposure is going to be different anyways, that is, you really have to go out of your way to get in trouble here.
The flip side, and think about this one: expats have been coming to Saudi with Aramco since the 30s or 40s, not years, decades, and with other service companies too, so yes, going back to original question, it's safe here.

3. The 28/28 is job position related, such as drillers. Most jobs are residential based. 4. I agree with StarboyX. Yes, it is safe here. Safer than Houston where we came from.
