Everybody told me 180days, but with to different way to start the counter: 1) they have to finished 180 days starting my arrival in KSA 2) they have to finished 180 days starting of the issue date of the yellow slip That is right? Thanks

ddaann1, the 180 days is for your wife. She is the one who cannot be out of the Kingdom more than 180 days in order for you to maintain family status and receive EAP for your children when needed.
The 180 days start over every January 1. So the first year you are here, no matter when you arrive, she cannot be out of the kingdom more than 180 days. If you come in the last half of the year, she would need to be here long enough to get her resident visa and iqama. Starting the next year January 1, she would have 180 days to be out of kingdom during that year.

In addition to the reply, It's easy to keep track of these days using the Absher app on your mobile. Install it once you have your Iqama set up.
It has your Exact dates of entry and exit from kingdom of yourself and your dependants as well as other info like visa expiry and driving licence, car etc.
For example, my wife somehow managed to hit 160 days OOK last year, all verified by Absher.

Does anyone know if Bahrain time counts in this equation?
What if you actually commute from Bahrain, so your wife is out of the kingdom almost v every day of the year?

Bahrain doesn't count. You need to be in Saudi to be classed as in kingdom.

So, if someone lived in Saudi but drive to Bahrain and spent the night enough times, could they somehow end up showing ook for 180 plus days?
Thanks

That’s 6 months of nights in Bahrain. Yes it could be possible if you were going that often, Then tack on days OOK that you take your repat vacation and any other trips during the year.

Thanks, it's a lot of nights for just Bahrain but you're right. Between repat, extended Christmas and summer vacations, along with regular trips, I know a lot of wives will be close to that 180 day limit
