Several people have PM'd about the shipper I used from Toronto last year (they can arrange for all shipment from anywhere in North America):
Mr. Noman Syed
A: 6500 Silver Dart Drive, Mail Box: 95, Bldg. F, Suite#271, Vista Cargo Complex, Mississauga-ON, Canada L5P 1A2.
Tel: 905 677 6957 Cell: 647 864 4872
sales@icscargo.com
As a ballpark figure, for 100 kg, I paid about $800 to have it sent via Turkish Airlines from Toronto to Dammam.
1. Shipping costs are also by volume/density, so prices can vary. 2. ICS Cargo will inform assist you along the way, giving you all the contact info for pick up in Dammam. 3. Even if you pick up within 24 hours of arrival in Dammam, Saudia Cargo (the handlers here) will charge you a standard service and security fee. 4. Go with someone you know or that speaks Arabic, Hindi, Urdu; you need a lot of signatures from a lot of people before you can get your shipment. 5. Print the fine print in both Arabic and English from the Saudi MOI website that clearly states expats don't pay any custom fees/duties on their 1st and one-time relocation shipment. 6. Your shipment will be x-rayed and opened for inspection, in front of you, so don't pack things you know you shouldn't. 7. You'll get a text message from customs for clearance before you can drive off with your cargo.
Aramco does have their own cargo hanger in case you'd rather avoid all of this. However, if Aramco does your shipping for relocation, you forfeit your CIL allowance.

Car: probably not worth shipping, as it's unlikely to be built to meet gulf A.C. specs, so won't cope with the heat. Electrics: where from? You can't import 110V items. Furnuture: depends on how attached you are to it, and where you are likely to end up living - some places come with more/better furniture than others. There is a split - people who ship everything, people who fly a small amount, and people who come with 2 suitcases each.

Cars: I agree with Swan, not worth it, even if it's within the age limit. Even if you can ship a new model car from North America, you need to get all the hosing retrofitted for the region, along with extra heat shielding in the engine/hood, and even tires. ? Electronics: I did ship my 110V printer, which I still haven't even used. Was it worth it? Considering I paid $50 for a brand new printer, no, more so b/c I can't find the printer's ink cartridges here. Again, as Swan said, it's 220V here.
Furniture: We have Ikea here, as a start!
