1. Vapes and liquid are allowed, and can be used in smoking areas, even at Aramco. However, buying isn't that easy, as they're not available in stores.
Most people turn to Instagram or go to Bahrain. Also, vapes and liquid are banned in the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi) and you can get fined
for even using it in public.
2. Medications with prescriptions: A reasonable amount of prescriptions, labelled with your name and a supporting doctor's note is fine.
Also, 3 to 6 months is allowed. There are instances where people get detained and put into jail for importing, or trafficking, medications; and that's only if they bring packets/packages in bulk without any labeling, or banned / controlled items.
On that note, most prescription medications are available over the counter, without a prescription.
3. Pain killers / supplements / vitamins: All allowed provided its a reasonable amount and fully sealed in the original packaging. I've brought Tylenol Extra Strength, Centrum, and Vitamin D pills, no questions asked.
4. Cologne/Perfume: Allowed and to be on the safe side, remove from the boxes and bring it in the bottle.
When you arrive in Kingdom for the first time, you will be received and greeted by an Aramco rep before immigration.
If you don't see him, look for him, b/c he has your documents ready for processing.
Do not proceed thru immigration w/o the rep as it will delay your processing.
You might see a long line for returning expats, along with a long line for new arrivals.
The reality is Aramco arrivals get expedited and fast tracked, regardless of nationality.
Furthermore, all luggage, every time you arrive, is always x-rayed upon arrival.
You will be escorted by an Aramco rep along the entire way, clearing immigration, picking up luggage and x-ray screening.
Then, you will go to the Aramco lounge, located in the arrivals hall, and wait for your "buddy" to receive you, or wait for other arrangements.
Now is your chance to use the FREE WiFi in the lounge for a quick email, status update, etc; to let family know you've arrived.
Before you leave, get a SIM card from the airport, and here's why:
If you're staying at Munirah, you can't buy a SIM card at Munirah anymore.
The booth in Lulu doesn't sell SIM cards.
There is an STC store in Mujama, which is another 10 to 15 minute walk from Munirah.
The Aramco lounge is also where you will handover your passport to the Aramco representative for your Iqama.
Rest assured, you will receive it back within days, not weeks, or months.
Until you receive your Iqama and passport, you must always carry the a photocopy of your visa with you at all times, even on camp.
In fact, you must always carry your Iqama with you once you receive it.
Finally, since Aramco provides healthcare in Kingdom via JHAH, it's always best to carry your badge with you at all times.
In the event you need medical attention, and are unconscious, the badge will help determine your ID, blood type, and of course, covee.
On that note, if you go to Bahrain or the UAE, it's always best to take out insurance from your end, or check if your credit card covers you.
Aramco does not provide covee outside Kingdom, including Bahrain.
