o dear reader,
I do not know whether this matter has been broached on this forum, but I had to know the current situation in Saudi Arabia regarding the generation of iqama for sponsorees of expatriate employees (at least at JHAH/Saudi Aramco). I believe JHAH/Aramco will comprehensively manage the procedure to get iqamas for their employees, but what about others ?
From what I have heard, the term "dependents" comprises spouse, minor sons, unmarried or widowed daughters, etc, while "sponsorees" include workers and the like. In my case, I am supposed to join my mother (who will be joining JHAH soon with family status) later on as her meherram (male guardian). Ironically, as far as my previous experience in a similar situation in KSA goes, I was listed as a sponsoree under my mother, in the government records. I assume this might repeat itself again.
So, can anyone spell out in detail the procedure to get an iqama with respect to my case ?
1. Does one have to complete another medical test after entering KSA, or will JHAH take care of it ?
2. Does JHAH/Aramco help its employees in any way to get their sponsoree's/dependent's iqama (like assuming full responsibility of the procedure) or will my mother, as my sponsor, have to do everything on her own (go through the bureaucratic auger) ? Specifically, does JHAH/Aramco cover the fees for the issuance of sponsoree's/dependent's iqama ?
3. Is it compulsory for me to be insured medically, and if so does JHAH cover sponsorees or dependents of its employees ?
4. What are the relevant documents to be given at various stages and to whom ?
I hope that, in this regard, current employees/soon-to-join employees/insiders at JHAH or Aramco might enlighten me with their experiences. Thank you.
