I shall ask a few questions specifically about Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH), even though I know this forum is dedicated to Saudi Aramco, and I read somewhere (I believe it was by "vpainter") that JHAH's policies are different from Aramco's. So if anyone can help me in this regard, kindly do so.
My mother is about to start working as a doctor at JHAH Abqaiq PHC. First of all, I don't know what is it with the HR department ; now I know patience is the key to working with Aramco, but I had to glean from the experiences of everyone at JHAH or Aramco as to whether they too have faced this frustration, i.e. did anyone at the HR department ever respond to your countless calls or e-mails whenever you had any query or clarification regarding the job or life in Saudi Arabia ?
1. My mother will be joining on Family Status, with me as her meherram (male guardian). She was told that initially she would be accommodated in a hotel in Dhahran for five days at least upto a few weeks at most. So my first question is, would I be allowed to come along with her concurrently to KSA, and which hotels would most likely fit this case ? Also, who would bear all related expenses of the hotel ?
2. Incidental to this matter is the question of flight tickets for initial embarkment - does JHAH pay for and send confirmed tickets, or only pays a lump-sum to be used by us, or do we have to purchase them ourselves ?
3. Generally how much time does it take to get the iqama after arriving in KSA ?
On a side-note, we are from India, so I assume my mother will be on global payroll - please correct me if I am wrong.
4. Is the Relocation and Settling-in Allowance at time of hire given to every doctor at JHAH who will not be living in Aramco owned/leased houses later-on or are there any exceptions ?
5. I have read on this forum (I believe it was by "canadaguy") that the accountable portion of house rent (or Family Housing Supplement as termed by JHAH) has been cancelled by Aramco. Is this applicable to JHAH too ? We got the job offer before August 2017, but have not arrived in KSA yet, so where do we fall ?
6. As far as the paid vacation at JHAH goes, can someone describe it in detail ? I read somewhere that if one arrives at the end of a particular calendar year, he can take his vacation the following calendar year twice. Is it so ? How long does one have to wait to go on vacation and how many times can one split this vacation period ? Also, how many days of paid leave does one get ? Are there any other off-days (like national day, eid, etc) that can be redeemed and added to the vacation period ?
7. Are the contract papers provided in Arabic or English or both, and does one have to sign another/new contract on arriving in KSA ?
