Hi all, I've recently gotten an offer to work in Saudi Aramco and they told me I'd be living in the Dhahran camp. Im a single female and was wondering what it would look like? Im a GC11. How big? Is it a flat or a small house? How new/old is it? would it be segregated as in an all-female camp..etc. Any info would help. Thank you so much!

Thank you,

Dear vpainter, I have recently been told I will be receiving an offer to work at Aramco (next week they say) and will be housed on the camp likely in February. I have heard a lot about how they intend to put me in a townhome and I wanted to know if anyone knows what they look like and what single females can expect. Is there still the extreme housing shortage?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. I have read post after post on this, but I think emails are the only option to receive info? Also, the what to bring has not been updated in a few years, so are there still issues with 220V vs. 110V and the water in the homes being salt water and sweet water?

For everyone: 110V appliances are now banned in the kingdom. They will be confiscated if found in a shipment or luggage. Inside Aramco, the houses are being converted to dual oltage as quickly as possible. All the new homes built in the compound are 220V only.
Yes, there is still raw water and sweet water in many homes.

Vpainter, would you kindly be able to send me an email as well? I will be relocating to Dhahran on August 22nd, and also extremely interested in what housing might look like for single status. Thanks in advance!

Hi all, I am finally moving to Dhahran next month. It has been a 6 month process got there in the end.
I am excited and very nervous at the same time, lol of being in a whole new environment, with no family friends near by, a little daunting!!
I'm travelling from London, as a single female. I still don't have any real idea what my apartment will be like, the size the contents etc. If anyone has any info , i will be delighted to receive it.
Wishing you all a great day 🙂😎

Good luck, tkc94. It's already exciting as a male bachelor to go there, and even more so as a female I'm sure. I hope we'll all be able to build a nice social circle soon, especially for those missing their families!

Thanks in advance.

Thanks
