Dear All - I just received an offer from Aramco... its in GC 14, Salary of 231K with IC/expat premium for a family of 4 & 30K annual travel allowance. Im currently in a 260k range in US however with Tax protection for the base & premiums this offer would still come out +50K per year..
question is, is GC 14 a good grade to be in? am I in a decent pay bracket for this GC? are there chances to get promoted above in few years if performing well?
thanks.

In most cases it takes several years (at minimum 3 to 5)to move up a GC for expats. I believe most US expats GC range is from 12 to 15 and not too many 16's or higher. So you're already being brought in on the higher end. Not sure if I would go for $50K net annual benefit while taking a lower salary than you have US, if financial gain is your only main motivation; however, if going into semi-retirement, travel, expat lifestyle is appealing then you maybe a good decision.
Wow what do you do bro! $260K in Houston, you must be a director or higher!

Most expats will come in at 13/14. I have friends that received 2 promotions over 5 years and friends that are still in the same GC 5 years later after they were hired.
A decent pay bracket is one that will allow you to get increases each year without hitting the max. It's hard to say for you as it seems like you quoted salary + premiums, while the company pay range only considers salary.
