Hi everyone,

I am video interviewing tomorrow for the role of Staff Development Trainer.

Wondering if there is anyone here part of (or know about) the Training and Development Dept.?

i.e., Where is primary work site for this unit? (I would assume Dhahran / HQ)?

Anyone involved in T&D willing to share experiences or insights--- would be most appreciated!

Also: we used to live in Qatar not so long ago. Any restrictions on travel to Qatar by road given recent political developments? We'd be interested to visit friends who still live there (assuming we get the job).

You cannot currently fly, drive or any other means of direct transportation from Saudi to Qatar.
Fly to Kuwait or Muscat and then onwards to Doha is possible. I'm not sure what the visa situation would be tho ie I don't know what effect having a recent Saudi or Qatari entry stamp in your passport would mean for entry into the other.

By way of update:

You never know how these thing go, but I feel good about the interview--- as others have described, the questions were fairly straightforward--- and I enjoyed the meeting. Nothing to do but wait! And probably forget about it, given the "flexible" timeline.

In terms of housing:

Are there are residential communities near the camp where SA will provide daily shuttle service? I was informed by HR that the initial housing would be in the community, with worksite in Dhahran. The issue for us (me & fam) is that at 39 years old, I don't drive--- getting to and from work, and getting kids to and from school could be logistically challenging. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!
