This is my first post as I embark on this epic journey - I'm currently on the BI and medical/visa stage after two successful interviews and being furnished with an amended offer (still not what I was expecting but overall package much better than the 40% tax I currently pay).
I'm from London and will hopefully travel with my two young kids and wife if all goes to plan. I'll provide a more detailed time line once everything is confirmed (touch wood).
Due to the housing crisis in the compounds at Aramco, I have been requested to sign a form to clearly show my acceptance of a non-compound housing with RAA until such period a compound housing can be provided. The only advantage I see with compound living compared to the outside is you can send your kids to Aramco schools if you live on the compounds and they are supposed to be the best schools in the country?
My question regarding the Rental Assistance Allowance (RAA) are :
1. Is this paid in cash on a monthly/annual basis?
2. Is the max paid i.e. for family on Global GC 11+ at max RAA ~$60K? Or based on actual rental and if so then I would expect one to get the 'best bang for their buck'?
I ask because it's a case of either living lavishly or saving as much as you can depending on whether cash is paid or max paid based on actual rental.
I could certainly ask my Relocation Advisor but wanted to start my first thread and participate in this great forum.
