Hi everyone,
I have today accepted a job offer from Saudi Aramco as a secretary based out of the head office in Dhahran. I understand that that this is all subject to the visa being issued but whilst I'm waiting I thought I would reach out to any other "newbies" or people who have recently made the move to Saudi as it would be lovely to share your experiences of the process and more importantly have some friends and contacts for when I arrive.
I hope I'm not being too forward and that this is the sort of post this site is for (I'm also a newbie to social media)!
I look foreard to hearing from you.
Sarah, West Sus, UK

Sarah,
Same here, accepted the offer late December and took me two and half months to get everything organised (legalisation/visa/medicals). Process wen't pretty smooth it is just a matter of following up with the third party service providers to get things organised in time.
Am flying to Dahran early june. Will share my experiences once I arrive!
Regards,
Barry

o - I hope you don't mind me jumping into your conversation here! I have an interview for a Secretary position in Saudi. I just wondered if you had any advice for me? I'm a little nervous but I really, really would like the position and hope my experience can speak for itself. Generally I'm not that great at talking about myself and get all flustered so any advice would be really appreciated! Thanks so much - and congratulations on the jobs Sarah/Barry. Vicky

Hi Vicky,
Firstly congratulations on the interview. I am not sure where you live so I can only comment on my experience with AOC in London. It may vary by country or even location.
My first interview was via Skype as the lady interviewing me was based in Saudi. The time seemed to fly by as I was made to feel at ease. It ran as a normal interview with questions about my experience and a little about myself plus whether I had ever worked abroad before and how I felt about working away from family and friends.
Best of luck with your interview and if you wish to message me again please feel free as I know how daunting the process can be.
Regards,
Sarah

Oh, randomly found this thread. I wonder if you still work there? Are you happy with the contract terms? And has the pandemic affected your company? Well, I'm one of those who faced this. Unfortunately, I lost my job during the quarantine, so I am now looking for any opportunity to earn money for a living. But I'd like to take quality courses and get certified so that I can find a good remote job. By the way, I found a service, where students can get help with the exams for 2020 Cisco Certification. This certification provides an excellent opportunity to get a position in the best companies around the world. So, if you know good Cisco courses, I will be glad to get your advice.
