Hi all,
I leave London on 3 December. I'm a Secretary. They haven't told me what department yet. Think I will only know when I get there.
Protea2016 - how are you getting on with the medical etc?

Wife and I flew to Houston for orientation and medicals two weeks ago and got word yesterday that my medical had cleared.
I believe the medicals now need to be signed off by Saudi embassy in Houston and then my visa application will be sent to Saudi embassy in Ottawa.
Been a long road but looks like it's moving along...

Hope so!
Bit of a chicken and egg scenario as don't want to sell anything and get moving on preparation until it's a done deal, but at the same time intimated by how much needs to get done.

How's the preparation going LadyLondoner?
Would be great to connect via email if you are up for it - I can likely learn a few things as you will have experienced things just ahead of me.
If you're open to connecting, perhaps request that Vpainter pass on your email.
Exciting times ahead.

Can someone tell me what the medical includes? I have never had one before!

emmalouwalsh, if you will do a search for "medical" you will find a list of what tests are done on page 3 of the search results.

I would imagine it would be same for everyone.

It is the same for all employees, because of the free medical care here. Aramco does not take anyone who will be a drain on the system up front. If you are here and have health issues, you are taken care of.

This is very useful - I should be going for my medical soon in the next two weeks or so according to my RA. Just getting my degree verified as BI should be coming to an end from my understanding. So fingers crossed.

Hi Vpainter, I am a newbie moving from Canada and will not be living on an Aramco compound and will have access to Rental Assistance. I realize that compounds will differ in price, but wondering if there is a "ballpark" figure on what to expect to pay on a 3 bedroom villa in a decent compound (near the Dammam or AlKhobar area). I am not looking for luxury, but somewhere with nice facilities, decent community feel, as I am moving with my kids. I sent you an email. People have been coming for a good while, employee first, then the family. The process can take anywhere from 2 to 3 months up to 6 to 9 months as the worst case. Most are within 3 months.
