Hi All,
so i have been contacted by someone from aramco inviting me to apply for a specialist role with them a few weeks back. i applied just as instructed, 2 weeks went by, and i have just found out that the jobs are on hold, and that once the hold is removed i will be contacted. based on what i have read on here, im guessing its because of Ramadhan being round the corner and how most things come to a standstill during this blessed month. can anyone verify if this is happening across other departments?
it is a blessing i guess as i have several qualifications that i will have completed and be certified against in the next 4 weeks.
i have a question regarding housing provided, lets say hypothetically that an offer extended and agreed, i have 6 dependants that i would look to bring with me, thats my wife and 3 kids, and my parents.
would aramco offer housing to cover this? is there a limit on how many people are allowed to go?
im a brit, born and raised and educated, if that makes any difference?

Things definitely slow down during Ramadan, but there could be other reasons why the positions have been put on hold.
There are strict limits on the number of people you can bring with you to live in Saudi Arabia.
Expatriates cannot typically bring parents as dependents, but of course they can visit. Your housing would be based on the number of dependents the company certifies as meeting HR policies, which in your case looks like wife and 3 kids assuming they all live with you and there are no complicated family dynamics at play. That would likely lead to a 3BR. Depending on when you come, they would assess what's available at the time of your family's arrival. You might end up in a local compound in a 3 BR villa. Depending on availability, it's possible you could move straight into camp, but still likely a 3 BR, depending on the grade code you're brought in at.
There have been many housing changes over the past year or so. Again, depending on your position, GC and passport, you could end up being offered on camp housing, local community compound housing, or a housing allowance, and you might have to find housing and schooling outside of camp. It really does depend on a number of various factors.
The specific housing you get really does depend on whatever is available the moment your family gets approved for their visas and they have confirmed travel plans. Then they look to see what is available that matches your GC and dependent requirements at that time and begin the housing assignment process.
