I just came to Riyadh from USA. I am selling my house in USA( I am Canadian citizen) and le company is confused how I can sign closing documents as they said Saudi Arabia is not a party to the Hague Convention which creates an issue of using what may be a notary public recognized in Saudi as their authority is not recognized in the US. Is it right . Did anyone face this problem and what is the solution.

This is actually eaasier than I thought.
I closed on my house while here in the Kingdom just last month.
The le company can have most docs signed electronically. The pages that require "wet signature" or witnessing and notary stamp can be sent to you via email.
Set an appointment at the local embassy / consulate for notory service. There is a bit of lead time on the appointments so be sure to book as early as possible.
Bring the printed docs needing signature and notary to your appointment and it will be taken care of. The embassy / consulate is considered US soil and this is common practice.
I think it cost us $25 per notary stamp.

If your realtor and your le agent are having difficulty, you can simply do the power of attorney and have a family member or a friend sign the docs for you as well. Also very normal procedure.
