o,
Can anyone share how it was at arrival in general, especially how long it took to find proper housing (global payrole). Is the assistance provided by Aramco to find housing satisfactory?
Thanks

Yes, Aramco assists an employee finding a place. I was connected to the office - that deals with housing - on second day of my orientation. Based on your enlement and requirements, they book appointments with few compounds, give you a driver and vehicle to go and look at the units. I was able to find - what I needed - on my first visit; and moved within three days.

CanPak,
How were you paid the housing allowance when you didn't a bank account yet? Out of curiosity can I ask the name of the compound you got a place and your opinion of it so far?

I visited 4 compounds and picked a 4 bedroom unit at Arabian/Wadi village - good sized and renovated; plus I was able to get their value-pack (bedsheets, towels, vacuum, toaster, microwave etc). They also changed sofa fabric of all sofas (three)
I found many compounds willing to accommodate Aramco employee without being paid yearly rent in advance...they can wait until employee receives payment - that may take 30 to 60 days (depending on payment cycle)

I searched my villa myself, do not count on the rental assistance office as they might not have the current information available from all the compounds, I visited the office once and was not happy with the selection of houses they had, plus they were sending people in groups so you will have to go to all compounds even if you know that you are not going to get the house in that compound.
What I did that I rent the car and contacted the compounds directly and arranged my own visits so that I can have my own time and not rushed to move from one compound to second compound, it paid of for me as I was able to locate the villa in a very good compound (Oasis Resorts) and they had only one available which was not in the list of rental assistance office, so I secured the contract within one week of my joining. As mentioned above, compounds trust Armco employees and just need 10% of rent amount to give out a house key and you can move in, within a month or two (depending on when you complete the move out requirements during a month) you will get the allocated rent money in your account which you can transfer to compound's account.
I was lucky that I could secure the house quickly but I have two colleagues who joined two weeks after me and they are still looking for a house in outside compounds, I guess they just secured the contract but house will be available in January 2016.

o All, I am joining in Jan-2016 with Rental assistance. This is 3 Basic. But in RAA they mentioned "No Cap". 1. It meaning that suppose villa is more than 3 Basic amount,Company will pay excess amount?
2. Compound houses are with all Bedsheets and kitchen items? 3. How much amount we have to paid for reserving the villa/house?
Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Bhumi2482,
1. You will be responsible for any excess over the 3x basic. There are many employees who do this, in order to live on their preferred compound. 2. What the compound provides does very much depend on which compound you end up living on. White goods and furniture tend to be included as standard. The rest is up to you to furnish. 3. Again, this depends on the compound. It appears that things have changed since we were looking, as many compounds wanted 12 months rent in advance. As an Aramco employee, it would seem that you are in a good bargaining position.

You can spend as much as you like. Aramco will pay up to 3*base. You pay the extra. Cap relates to what salaries they will multiply for, not your individual salary with no cap. You've mentioned global and eastern payrole. Check again what it says about family status. We got a flat rate max for family size on global.

Hi Swan, me again And apologies to everyone for reviving old threads from the dead (well since 2015) but maybe more prudent then to create a new thread. So I'm on a Global payroll (GC 11+) which states with two kids the RAA is 225K SAR, so is this the amount they will pay as cash into my account upon securing accommodation or do they pay as a monthly supplement? Secondly do they pay the max amount (225K) and it is upto you what accommodation you decide to select be it of a lower annual cost of 225K SAR or higher in which case you will have to pay the difference. I'm simply asking because, if the max is paid in cash into your account, then you have the opportunity to save some money from RAA? Alternatively, if is it based on actual rental costs, then one would naturally get the 'best bang' for their buck i.e. utilise the max available RAA to get the best property they can? Any clarification would be much helpful. Cheers, Yamaaan Save
