Of course I know it will depend on an individual's lifestyle, but can anyone venture a guess on the likely living cost for a bachelor in KSA?

If you exclude housing costs, I have friends that live quite easily on SAR 2,000 per month. Go to Bahrain every weekend and you can multiply that by 4 or 5 or even more. As you said, it depends on the life style. I expect some basic costs will go up soon as subsidies on some basic items may be reduced or eliminated but nothing major.

Agree with above, 2000 is basic life if housing paid (and includes water and electricity)
If you want taxis about, they are usually 25 one way, 40 from Aramco to town.
Don't forget to factor in a car or taxis, and trips home.
