Great forum, many questions answerd.
I just accepted my offer as new hire for Jazan refinery, I am trying to collect some information about schooling options for my son (13), as there are long waiting lists.
Tried world education (online) but not a valid option to receive Educational Assistance allowance.
Is home schooling an temporary option?, compulsory education is 14 in the KSA.

Hi expat13! Are you Dutch? My husband relocated beginning this week, on Monday. He will also be working in Jazan.
My children are 3 & 4 years old, I managed to add them to several waiting lists. I just kept on emailing them and I also called some schools. I understand that when your son is 13, you are more in need of a school than we are. I will pm you with some extra details.

Homeschooling is an option. You would have to find your own homeschooling affiliation, but parents are homeschooling here.

Yes we are Dutch, thank you for the pm (my wife has tried to replay with no luck, regarding forum rules i think), we are still in early stages, BI. medical etc.
Hope your husband setteld well, suppose busy first week?

Good to hear from you. My husband is there.. his week was mainly orientation. Yesterday was his first day of work. Which was also still very much based on orientation. You have to have a minimum of messages and posts before you can use the PM function. Hope you can reply soon.
Our timeline was rather fast, the Netherlands is well organized when it comes to papers and visa. When everything is ok, then you will have your visa within a few months.

As to the Timeline we are ready for the next phase, i am glad that my son is in good spirit about the whole thing.
I can imagine that with small children is just a bit easier.
