Hi I have just applied for medical secretary post again (after 3 years since previous) and have learned that it is now Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare. Instead of having to go to London for interview they are going to try and set up a video link interview in Belfast where I live. Has anyone had interview this way and if so what should I expect? Also if anyone can give me some info on the new arrangement and whether the financial benefits are still the same such as yearly bonus, paid flights home etc and what is the monthly salary in sterling for a medical secretary ( I specialise in Radiology). If anyone can contact me they can do so at fionablack77@btinternet.com and would love to hear from anyone who is there or has been and can offer any advice as it would be much appreciated. Many thanks, FIONA X

JHAH is being managed by Johns Hopkins, their pay, benefits, etc are completely separate from Aramcos.
Cant help you with the interview thing.

JHAH is currently separate from Aramco. You will need to ask all your questions during your interview. Also be sure to ask about housing, JHAH personnel will no longer live inside Aramco.

Many thanks for replies. I have interview next Tuesday so I'll be sure to make a list of questions I need to ask! Seems like lots of changes have happened In last few years since my friend left so not sure whether it's going to be worth leaving everything behind! Guess all will be revealed soon enough! X

Well I completed my interview yesterday and now I guess it's just a waiting game! 4 doctors and 1 secretary were on the panel via video link but was very relaxed and not daunting. I did try and ask about housing but one of the doctors said I would have to speak to HR about that. This confuses me as I'm dealing with AOC London and not Johns Hopkins directly! I guess I may just wait until I'm offered a post, if lucky enough, before I can find out any more info such as housing, salary, holidays etc. F x

fionablack77, I am sure others will appreciate you keeping updates on this thread as you go through the process. It is uncharted territory for us at Aramco. Thank you!

Hi all So just an update. I finally received a job offer on 22nd Dec 2015 for medical secretary post based in Dhahran and complete with onsite compound accommodation! Salary is much better than anticipated also so I have accepted the post and now have completed all background check forms and police check forms. So it's just another waiting game now to see if I pass all the checks then it'll be medical checks. That's only thing I'm worried about in that I have had minor issues and hospital admissions but nothing major or life threatening! Will update again once I hear anything!

I am very interested in anyone with any info about JHAH. My husband has been offered the job of senior paramedic with them but I can't seem to locate any other JHAH paramedics or really any other JHAH employees. Fionablack, I would love to hear about your experience. Or from anyone els with any JHAH knowledge. Thanks!

Like Fiona, I have also been offered a post as a medical secretary with JHAH. I have accepted the position and currently the background checks etc are ongoing. I just wondered if someone could clarify the position for an OLD married couple. A single status visa is attached to the job offer but I am trying to find out if I can apply for a visa for my husband. I think at present he can come to Saudi for 3 months but then has to return home for 6 months and then reapply. Does anyone know if this is correct? Or is there anyway that I can apply for a couples/family visa? I have tried contacting the Saudi Embassy in London loads of times but can’t get a reply. Many thanks

Women are not enled family status, meaning you can not sponsor husband/children to come with you. They can visit but not apply residence under you. Do a search on "women single status" to see what other ladies had done (ex. some have their families stay in their country sharing time here and there/ some have applied for residence in Bahrain to be closer to their families (not so usual solution as housing, transportation (hiring a driver for you) and living expenses are all up to you, and can be very expensive)/some had decided to withdrawl their offers when they find out can't get family status)

My wife is a doctor in USA and offered a position with Family status. My concern is how long does it take to get the family visa after arriving in Dhahran? We are very well set in USA and salary is the same.Wondering if we can ask more like getting the family visa before joining the company etc. The perks at JHAH doesn't seem to be great if we compare it with the one we have in USA.
Any help?

Family visas cannot be applied for until after the employee receives their resident visa and iqama which can take a week to several weeks depending on the time of year (Ramadan always takes longer).
Then it can take a month to 6 months for the family's visas, again depending on time of year.
You can always ask for family visas up front, you may or may not be given them.
Your income benefit will come from the foreign earned income tax break which will give you more take home pay. She will also work less hours here.

Hi,
I wonder if anyone has travelled recently to work for JHAH and can offer any advice.
I will hopefully be flying out in November from the UK (awaiting flight confirmation) to take up post as Medical Secretary in Dhahran. (Single status) Housing will be provided but I cannot find any info re what's included (size, furnished/non-furnished etc.) or is it the same as Aramco housing, as mentioned in other posts? My advisor does not seem to have much info to pass on so I've panicking slightly re what or not to bring (and whether to ship or not to ship). With thanks in advance,

Hi Ren,
What is your email address and I can send you some pics. I'm a Secretary too and I am leaving London and flying there on the 3rd of December. I got sent pics from another Secretary there and it really helped me put things into perspective.
The accommodation is furnished but it is fairly old-fashioned. Many people get 2nd hand furniture or stuff from Ikea.
