We took half standard suitcases on Emirates, and half DB boxes that my husband trimmed down. And we brought my daughter's American Girl dolls - a couple in her suitcases, and her dearest in her carry-on bag. A lot of the doll clothes and accessories came in our sea shipment without any trouble. Other dolls came in our sea shipment without any trouble.
