We just received our offer! We are incredibly excited.
Of course there are a hundred questions, most of which we've found anwers to already.
However, my wife has one I can't find on here...
Is there a school supply list available for 2015/2016 school year? My kids will be in 4th and 5th grade in SAES.

Congrats! It's a great feeling when the offer finally arrives, and now the real work begins in the form of a deluge of paperwork, in addition to blood, sweat, tears and other specimens that accompany the medical checks. Perhaps someone can post a list, but your best bet is probably to bring this up with your relocation advisor as soon as she/he reaches out to you. Planning and preparation is the most difficult aspect of the process for us, as everything is rather academic until the stamped passports arrive, willing. That said, my offer arrived within about a week of my daughter's birth, so we were already quite busy

Thanks for the reply! All the school supplies are going on sale here this weekend since the kids started this past week. My wife just wanted to take advantage if possible. At least we have a good idea now!
We should have our relo advisor early next week. My work location will surely be Dhahran. I assume we will kick off our stay at Ar Rakah like the other US Expats. I will hopefully know more soon.
By the way... what is the standard manner of dress in the office?
Thanks for all the help... I am sure there will be more questions as we move forward!

According to the relocation guide, the dress code is business casual in the office. For those doing field work, appropriate outfits and gear will be provided.
I remember from my video interview that the gents in Dhahran were wearing slacks and on-up shirts.
I'm curious to know if they allow casual Thursdays.

Aramco will buy you uniforms or coveralls for field work that is flame retardant. Your choice if your job is in Dhahran. In my dept., we get two per year no cost. There is no casual Thursday and dress code policy says so. I'm sure they dressed nicely for the video. Dress shirts are okay but many people, like myself, wear polos. I found the water here is too harsh and destroys dress shirts too quickly in the laundry. There is a dry cleaners but it is highly likely clothes will get lost from time to time. Sometimes I actually get better clothes returned. It's a lottery. I recommend you pick up your drycleaning on the day it is due. There is also a policy on shoes and they don't allow flip flops. Having said that, in the core area you will see some wearing Hawaiian print shirts and thongs (shoes) but I wouldn't recommend doing that until you have been here for 15 years and are only doing so hoping to get surplused. That never seems to work anyway. The policy is not very strict and, unless you really stand out in the crowd, nobody will ever say anything. Some offices get visited by VIPs frequently. It never hurts to have a blazer in a desk drawer if you work in those areas. You generally get much advanced notice for those visits.

Great reply. I appreciate the humor too.
Sounds similar to Houston office casual.
Cheers!

Men wear nice jeans or slacks in the engineering building, polos, short sleeved collared shirts, long sleeved dress shirts, sweater-like shirts that are collarless. You will dress nice if meeting with the VP's, so do bring some dress shirts, ties and suits or slacks and a sports coat. Also you will have some non company parties you will want to attend in formal wear or dress clothes.
