o all,
I am going to be in Kingdom in a couple weeks, but before I leave, I'd like to know how large the space in the kitchens is for the refrigerator. Specifically in the 3-bedroom units. I have a few very nice refrigerators and if any of them will fit in the kitchen I will bring it with me. Dimensions of the space between cabinets (if applicable) would be much appreciated.
Also, is there a big difference between the refrigerators at Dhahran and Rakah? They plan to put us for a short time in Rakah before transitioning to Dhahran. Thanks.

Each house style in Dhahran has its own layout but I have been in the Hills and main camp and seen many other houses. I have two fridges as many people do. Both the "normal" size and large side-by-side both in the kitchen. I believe the difference between Rakah and Dhahran will be voltage. I also have an upright freezer in the gae but, then again, not all houses in Dhahran have a gae. It seems like the majority does but, in main camp, the houses are much older. Most houses now have 220V outlets at least after renovation. If not, tou can ask for some to be installed. Zaina sells Sears Kenmore appliances but only 220V. They have every size and shape to choose from.

Plenty of room in Rakah for fridges. There is a "maid's" room just off the kitchen which is empty and I have seen families put a deep freeze in there.
You can choose which outlets you would like for 110 or 220V when you arrive on Rakah (it's a bit more complicated than this, but good enough explanation for this purpose).
Also, depending on how many children you have and GC, the avee time for US payroll on Rakah is about a year. If you are GC15+ with 0-1 children you can move quickly, otherwise allow 12months.
