Hi, I have a criminal record for possessing illegaly a handgun. Is there any chance for me to go through the screening process and get a job at Saudi Aramco ? ps: I am from Europe.

Well I am no expert but personally I wouldn't lead off with that in the interview. It might be difficult to get an Iqama with a criminal record. It is what it is. Background check is one of the requirements of employment and they are usually very thorough. I will say the worst thing you can do is try to hide things. I had a guy tell me that they went to the neighbors to get their opinion. This is not just for Aramco protection. We work for the Saudi govt. Our security is World class. They don't take chances.

I suspect that a criminal conviction for a firearm offense will likely be disqualifying if it is discovered in the background investigation phase...unless you have a REALLY good explanation or there are compelling exigent circumstances combined with you having an incredibly unique skillset.
