Hi, I arrived in Dhahran last week and got a big surprise very next day that my work location will be Jazan and not Dhahran as mentioned in my contract. My relocation advisor always told me via telephone and emails that I will be based in Dhahran. Now I am being told to move to Jazan and my family will stay in Dhahran. Does any one else has passed through the same situation? Could anyone advise who should I speak to and what is the best possible way forward? Many Thanks

If your family is in Dhahran, that is your base location. In this case, it usually means more money for you as it should be considered a remote location. You spend weekends with your family and kids get better school options. Look at the big picture. I have heard that there may eventually be a family camp in Jazan but all plans are not per the original timeline. Make sure your family has good communication. Visit the customer service center to get all the useful phone numbers. Things are harder at first but get better very fast. Aramco will make sure your family is taken care of 24/7. Nothing to fear.

I would argue that the big picture is your family, not the job, the pay, or the retirement. A family needs a father and mother to give balance. Without the fathers presence, the children will lack that much needed balance and this effect will stay with them their entire life.
Temporary business trips are one thing, but being home only on the weekends is totally different. If Aramco is going to advertise itself as a family friendly environment, and actively sell itself to candidates as a job that will take you away from excessive traveling, then changing that agreement upon arrival to be the exact opposite is a pretty bad business move.
I know for my family, that would be a game changer. I guess I will cross my fingers and hope for the best.

We are in the same position, however we knew from the start that my husband will work in Jazan. The first period he will work remote and 4 days a week in Jazan. I understood that there will be community build in Jazan, so eventually we will all be there. I also heard that the first period we will all be in Dhahran as the factory in Jazan is not open yet.
We thought long about this choice, however we take it a day at a time, we were never this long apart, so I cannot imagine how this will be. My children are small, and it seems temporally that my husband has to work remote.

Thanks for your comments guys. The issue also is that we donot have any children and my wife cannot live at her own for four nights and five days. It becomes even worse because we are not offered a house in one of Aramco camps and we have to find out an accomodation off camp. Also, my family comes first for me than any other thing including money. I need some advice on who I can speak to, to resolve this issue? Thanks
