Hi All
Is the visa on arrival for Bahrain free or is there any fees?
Do we have to ask for some kind of Visa as we will only require it to pass through the causeway?
Thanks
A Khan

Not free. I have US passport so pay 2 BD or 20 Saudi Riyals. They do not accept all currencies and don't take big bills. There is a currency exchange beside passport control but you might get annoyed being told to go there after cueing for 30 minutes so plan ahead. Be sure and tell them you are transit or the fee goes up. For me, I think it would be 5 BD for a Bahrani visa.

Thanks bogiefrommuskogee for your reply. I have searched on google and found that the entry for UK passport holders are free. Is this true? www.bahrainguide.org/BG1/visas.htmlPlease confirm?

Hi Adeel26, I am a UK passport holder and came through Bahrain airport a few weeks ago en route to Saudi Arabia via the causeway. Did not pay any fee but they give you a receipt at the airport that shows zero payment. Hope this helps

Just out of curiosity, does your Saudi visa say you are arriving by land or by air? I brought my mother-in-law for a visit a couple of years ago. Her visa was by air. I called a friend in HR who told me there would be no problem coming across the causeway. Bad advice. My family went across the causeway but I had to buy tickets for myself and MIL to fly to Dammam so she could arrive by air. We arrived about 5 hours later.

I believe all single visit visas must arrive into KSA by air. Multiple entry/exit is by land or air

I'm just referring to the email from 8/8/12.
Eligible employees who are granted visitor visas for immediate family members should carefully check the visa after issuance. The visa will state airport or land in Arabic. Airport indicates your visitor must travel through one of the Kingdom airports. Land indicates your visitor must travel via land, including the Saudi/Bahrain causeway.
It is the employee’s responsibility to check the issued visa prior to finalizing travel arrangements, to prevent any delays on arrival to Saudi Arabia.
The same rules apply to:
· Education Plan Assistance (EAP) eligible dependents, who travel to the Kingdom on visitor visas. · Business visa holders. Eligible multiple visitor visa holders may travel via the method mentioned on the visa. Once activated, travel thereafter may be via air or land.
