Is there any time limit from accepting the offer to joining job in Saudi?

When you get your offer, the cover letter usually gives you a time frame for responding.

My original offer letter cited that I had to tender all documents in 7 days. Well without prior warning of what that entailed, that was simply impossible. And I told them that. They did not seem to mind, and told me to take a breath and get it to them when I could. It took me a few weeks to gather everything, and now I'm in the relocation phase. So in my experience thus far, I'd say the timing is flexible.

PAK_24, it is unfortunate but sounds like the department changed their minds about hiring you or put the position on hold.

vpainter, is there any way to know the actual reason?

The only way is for the Department hiring you to tell your relocation agent and if they do not, then there is no way to find out the reason. There is no way for the relocation agent to find out unless the department chooses to tell them. So, no.

It seems you were being hired through third party agent (may be as a contractor), did you have a job offer in hand? Usually Aramco R A understands and cooperates with degree attestation process and they know it takes long time from Pakistan for degree attestation. I would suggest to apply again through Aramco website.

PAK_24, That's strange, it's very rare that after making an offer they drop candidate, how long it took you to get your degree attested and did you communicate during wait time with your advisor? I know for some people it took 6-9 months for getting their degree attested and still they made it through. What position or which department you were hired for?
