Hi there, thanks for reading and any help you can provide.
My girlfriend is being considered for a position (Legal) in Dhahran and we/I have a few questions regarding potential employment opportunities for me before we make any decisions regarding a potential move.
First off, since we are not married (nor, if I understand correctly, would we be able to marry), we may face some issues with visas; if you have any insights/tips on how to resolve any issues regarding this, please feel free to share them as we would be extremely grateful. We have lived together and moved cross-country (US) multiple times, so we are definitely only moving as a couple.
Secondly, are you aware of any alternate employment opportunities (other than Aramco) for a foreigner in Saudi Arabia (I have dual US and Swedish citizenship, my gf is a US citizen)? I have and will, obviously, continue to apply to any Aramco positions, but would love to hear about other options since we won't be able to take this exciting step without "something" for me to do as well.
I say "something" since I would also be open/interested in furthering my education instead of immediately finding employment; any info on this would be equally appreciated as well.
My educational background is History, Political Science, and international security ysis; My work experience has primarily been media/production based and focused where I have experience in both the creative and administrative aspects of the business. Unfortunately, considering the rather lengthy experience requirements/wishes from Aramco's side, I worked and served in the military before going back to college, so my experience is slightly less than asked for. I assume this limits my options, but I hope it helps in explaining our situation further.
