o All.
I have searched the forum but can't really find the answer I need so I am hoping someone would be able to give me an idea of what to expect from Aramco - just a bit anxious. I have been expecting an offer from Aramco for some weeks now.
I have the following experience:
18 years' post-BSc. experience in IT Msc degree A UK passport and currently working in the UK.
What should I expect from Aramco? Do they match (or exceed) the UK net or gross salary? I understand that Aramco applies a certain percentage as Overbase and Monthly Supplement to the base salary, but how do they determine the base salary?
Thanks Tee

Most people that I have discussed this with have said that their base was in the same ballpark as their existing UK gross.

Khurshad/Gareth0127, Thank you for your responses. khurshad, are you saying that the BASE salary on offer might be UK Base salary + 50% of base and what does 4.3L Vehicle stand for? Thanks

In my experience, the starting point is about 10% above your current base. Then there are benefits that get added on to be considered so make certain you understand them all. My advisor did not explain all the benefits to me so I was about to turn my offer down. I did have some knowledge of the benefits package and asked for clarification. Once I got the full picture, it changed the decision entirely.
If you are currently working in the UK, obviously you pay no taxes working in Saudi. I don’t believe that Aramco factors that in with their offer. They usually look at gross pay rather than net. There may be some room for negotiation or not and I have never really seen a clear path on this. I have seen negotiation work at times and other times, we said to forget about the candidate and look for someone else. In other words, take it or leave it. At times I have also seen GC be negotiated but again this can be very subjective. GC 11 is the lowest to have access to camp facilities.
GC 15 adds a few perks but also precludes you from any overtime pay. OT only pays up to GC 14 only. Not all departments will pay overtime because there has been a history of abuse of the system at times. I have known a few GC 14s that refused promotions because they would effectively take a pay cut by not getting OT for the GC15. GC 17 is the next valuable increment as it offers advantages in office selection, slightly preferential medical assistance and possibly a company vehicle although not a certainty. There are very few expat GC 18s.
You can receive promotions in GC during your career. In my business line, they can happen about every 5 years if the annual PMP ratings are good. Poor ratings usually don’t lead to promotions. Higher grade codes also give advantages as to type of housing available to you. Having a higher GC does not necessarily mean you make more money. There is a lot of overlap of the ranges in the GCs so, for example, you could be GC 15 and make less than a GC 14. If your work location is in a hardship area such as Tanajib, Shaybah, Khurais, etc., then you will get a nice kicker on top of everything else. These areas are considered hardship because there is no family housing. For those with families here, they work 4 ½ (long) days and go to their family home for the weekend.

"4.3L Vehicle" Just to be clear - Aramco does not offer a company vehicle as part of the employment package. You may or may not get a company vehicle depending on whether your job requires you to travel extensively during work hours. Even if you get a vehicle it is normally to be used during office hours only - no after hours use (without a sticker which allows for this and is not always given).

Thanks for your responses. Unfortunately, the person who made the decision hire me has resigned from Aramco. My application which had proceeded to offer stage has taken 1 step backwards as the person who took over want to interview me again - which is probably what I would have done if I were in his shoes.
So wish me luck.
